Paintz Story
Marriage in the Mithila region is deeply rooted in tradition, with customs tied to its cultural heritage and the Ramayana. Ms. Seema Nishant beautifully portrays these rituals in her Madhubani paintings. One such ritual is Lāwa Spreading, where the bride and groom walk around a fire (parikrama) while the groom's brother holds rice puff in a pot. As they spread the rice puff, it symbolizes auspiciousness, fertility, and prosperity for their married life, invoking blessings for harmony, abundance, and happiness in their journey together.
